Our cheese curds are shipped direct from a creamery in Wisconsin on the same day they are made. They don't get much fresher than that! Our natural curds are made from rBGH-free milk and have no artificial additives or colorings.
We prepare our curds by coating them in our special beer batter recipe and deep frying them to golden deliciousness.
What are cheese curds?
Cheese curds are a younger, spryer cheddar. They are what cheddar is before being formed into 40 pound blocks and aged. Cheddar cheese is typically aged from 90 days to 5 years or more before being sold, whereas cheese curds are eaten straight away while they are fresh and squeaky. You can get them wherever there are cheese makers, but Wisconsin is particularly famous for their curds.
Why are they sometimes white, not yellow?
All cheddar cheese naturally starts out white just like the milk they are made from. The flavorless yellow coloring is made from Annatto tree seeds and added later in the process. The color we are serving depends on what our supplier happens to be making that week.
